Scratching face! Help!

Baby is 4.5 months old and still constantly scratches at his face during the night 😓
He takes normal mitts off and gets his hands out of the built in mitts in babygrows within an hour of going down to sleep. I trim his nails every couple of days and try to file any edges to take away little sharp bits but he still wakes up in the mornings with scratches on his face 😓 he got the underneath of his eye quite badly the other day!

I hate trying to cover his hands at this age but not sure what else I can do!! It means he wakes and needs help everytime he drops his dummy because he can’t just pick it up himself like he usually would in the day! Has anyone found bedtime mitts that work for escape artist babies? 😓

You could try special eczema night wear for babies - I used it for one of my children when they used to scratch a lot. Some have integral mittens that don't open at all. We used Cotton Comfort.

It's awful to see isn't it? Good luck Flowers

Yes, we used scratchsleeves when DD was tiny, she never managed to escape them.

@Thamesis @Utini Amazing, thank you!! I’ll have a look at both 😊
It’s horrible to see! He’s got that lovely clear soft baby skin 😍 then he wakes up each morning looking like Harry Potter ⚡️ 🙈 I worry that he’s going to end up actually hurting himself properly!

Try not to worry, it's amazing how much their skin heals at that age. My son has nothing to show for it all after early years scratching.
