3 year old early wakings

Please help, I’m at the end of my tether. My 3 year old since being 6 month old has slept through, waking 7am to 8am. Since Christmas time he’s starting waking 6am so I started getting him up and now he’s changed that to 4/5am. He was in his cot but started to climb out so I changed him to a bed. He goes to sleep fine but wakes at 4am shouting “come get me” until I go get him up. If I go and take him back to bed (gate on door) he will just get back up and proceed to scream “come get me” until I do. I have another child that he wakes up (9 year old) and I’m a single mum, he sleeps fine for his dad, if he wakes his dad just has to say go back to bed and he does as he knows his dad is firm and won’t get him up. I know I’ve made things worse by getting him but I didn’t mind when it was after 6 but now it’s getting earlier and earlier.
I know if I go and hug him and lay him down he will just scream louder, what do I do?!?!

I would be fine if he was always an early riser but he isn’t and it’s just getting earlier. It’s my own fault for getting up with him in the first place, how do I change it?
Please help

We got a gro clock so that DD knew when it was ok to get up and then had a few tough days of putting her back to bed. We said she could look at books or toys as long as she stayed in bed while she did it.

Mine used to stumble in to our room at all hours, get into bed with us and go back to sleep. If I wasn't going to work (I worked part time when he was small), we'd eventually wake properly after 9am. None of us are early risers by nature so we suited each other very well. 6am is the middle of the night for me. However small kids need attention at all times and it's nice to cuddle up.
