CMPA and weaning

Hi all,

My dd has CMPA currently seven months old. We have been waiting for a referral for the paediatric dietician for six months after chasing it up twice a month every month I’ve given up.

I know a little bit about the milk ladder, but I was just wondering how others did this? Did you do it under hospital supervision or just test it out when you felt ready? I’m getting really frustrated at the lack of support Sad

I wouldn't personally try the milk ladder unless it's under supervision. This is just personal experience but your LO might associate the pain with all food and refuse to eat.

@PollyPocket245 we had a pediatric dr appointment a few months ago, but still waiting for the dietician to be in touch. They give me all the information on the milk ladder but I’ve not started it yet. DD is only 5 months though. But we have done early weaning on their recommendation for her reflux. So I’ve just started with fruit / veg baby rice and avoided dairy so Far. I think I will start the ladder once we’ve established that stage, whether they’ve been in touch or not. Then start at step 1 (1of5) of the ladder, and then through the portion stage (7stages) for each step, before moving on on to the next step. I know that’s not much help.

I’m on my second cmpa baby With my first we didn’t start the milk ladder until he was 12 months

They’ve said not to start until a year old with my second.
Sometimes you get stuck on a rung for quite sometime. Ds who’s 3.5 has been stuck on rung 4 of the imap milk ladder for over a year.
