Examples of a meal plan for 6 month baby

I'm due to start weaning in a few weeks time when DD turns 6 months old. I've got cow gate porridge and a few jars and will be mashing some foods up like banana's and all sorts. Can anyone give me an example of what they feed their baby through the day? I don't want to feed her the same thing over and over and just looking for some ideas to keep it interesting!

My DD used to like broccoli mashed into potato Smile

We are a few months on. But at 6 months it was something like:

Breakfast : porridge, with fruit purée. Fed with spoon. 1/2 Banana as finger food - he still pretty much has the same breakfast now at 10 months

Lunch: finger food. Toast with houmous/ phili, plus some Greek yogurt (spooned). Inner bits of cucumber/ raspberries/ well cooked leftover veg from night before (carrots/ cauliflower)

Dinner: blended veg, with some carb and protein. Ie courgette, carrot, rice and lentil. Or parts of what we had if suitable. I would make enough and freeze to last a few meals. Things like cottage pie I would make for us with no salt, take out portions for him with extra veg and blend or mash, then add salt or stock to our portion after.

We did veg first baby led weaning. So just whole steamed veg for a week, then introduced fruit, then meat etc.

One meal a day at 6 months, 2 by 7 months. Always just gave him the same as we ate from about 7 months, once we'd ruled out allergies.

Banana pancakes were a big hit and veg on cheese sauce always went down well early on. Omlettes are easy baby food.

No puree or baby cereal needed. Baby porridge is just super milled oats. Buy normal oats and you can have porridge at the same time plus its got a lot more texture for baby.
Now 1 year DS eats exactly what we do every meal.

When you start weaning, keep food to the morning especially new foods. Then if there's a reaction or it gives her tummy pains/wind it won't effect night sleep.

At the start just one food a day. Avocado day. Cantaloupe day. Broccoli day. Etc.

I've just started weaning my 6 month old. Have started on single green veg once a day for the first week. Will bring in sweeter single veg and fruit this week and then will start to introduce allergens like egg and dairy after that.

Thanks everyone! Some really good advice, will definitely be doing steamed veg first then sweeter stuff later.

I just gave DD proper food, cooked veg, toast, fruit, I think I pureed a few things. I never used jars or baby porridge, I never really understood what they were for.

I used to make baby hummus (blended chickpeas with nothing else added).

Easy to spoon feed on its own initially but when baby is ready to move into solids, can use it as a spread/dip same as the grownups.

It freezes well too.
