Clingy baby, just a phase?

My DD is almost 9 months old and is very clingy. We have a living room that has an open plan kitchen and I can't even walk to the kitchen without her crying for me. She always wants me to be sat next to her, even if I put her to play (safely on the floor) while I make her food she will sob until I come back. My husband can calm her but he wfh so can't always be there to help. I literally cannot do anything until the weekend until my husband can entertain her. Is this a phase that will get better?

It's definitely a phase. I think around now is the age where the realise that they are a separate person to you and develop separation anxiety.

It is a phase. Best dealt with by giving her lots of attention. It will pass.

Yes- it's a phase, it is normal (that's not to say that every baby goes through it but that it doesn't indicate anything wrong) and it'll pass on its own.

I could have written this! My 8.5 month old is the exact same.

Even if she’s in the same room as me while I do things she cry’s unless 100% of my attention is focused on her.

It is such a hard phase. I’m hoping it passes very soon.

My 10.5 month old is like this and has been since around 8 months.. still waiting for things to improve 🤣
