Feeding

For the last few nights my 5 month old baby won't take her second last bottle of the night and just falls asleep- this should be the 730pm feed then last feed before bed will be 930 which she sometimes takes as I have to do a nappy change before she goes into her cot.
I'm wasting 7oz of bottle because she's just not interested and falls asleep. She's slept through the night since 9 weeks but now because of skipping her 730 bottle she's waking up at 4am hungry.
She hardly naps during the day but has always been this way.
Can anyone offer their advice please?
TIA x

PS- She's always went two hours between feeds

Try giving bottle at 10:30 instead
Don’t worry they will take it when they want it

@shazzz1xx
Would I wake her for the 1030 feed?

Just dream feed so she goes straight back in the cot to sleep x

Can you just feed her at 4 when she wakes until she goes to the next routine? A baby's routine changes so much over the course of the year I've always just run with whatever is being demanded week to week. Sometimes that's more milk sometimes less and the times have varied loads for each of my babies over their first year. Not sure that's particularly helpful if you're keen to stop night feeds or being woken at 4am though! I guess I'm trying to say maybe that's just what she needs at the moment and it is bound to change again. 430 is a currently popular time in my house too Confused

A wee dream feed about 10-10:30 is what I would try

AlviesMam · 20/03/2021 21:07

Argh I don't know what to do now... let her sleep and feed at 4am or dream feed ShockConfusedGrin

No just pick her up asleep and try the bottle I use to have to rub bottle on her lips for a minute but honestly don’t worry or you could not give the 7:30 and just give her a bottle at 8:30 then that’s it until morning x

iusedtoloveopalfruits1 · 20/03/2021 22:01

Try the dream feed and see how it goes. if it doesn’t work you can back to feeding when she wakes at 4.

dementedpixie · 20/03/2021 22:06

Maybe every 2 hours isn't right for her now.
You might have to shift around feed times to suit her awake times

AlviesMam · 20/03/2021 23:48

Did a dream feed at 11pm she took the whole bottle and is now back in her cot settled!
Now to see if she sleeps through...

Thanks for all your advice!

@dementedpixie yes I'm starting to think it's not two hours between feeds anymore, I'll have to monitor the timings and see where I'm at! x

Great :) how did the sleep go ? x

Potterythrowdown · 21/03/2021 08:11

You're going to see sleep & feeding patterns change over the next few months, especially with weaning. I'd dream feed at 10pm and hope for the best.

You've had a good run of night sleep so it's probably going to get messed up at some point because that's what babies do! I'm in the same boat and I'm sure one night she's going to wake at 3am and then never sleep properly again 😭

AlviesMam · 22/03/2021 20:04

She slept after her 11pm dream feed and now she is full of cold and won't sleep at all bless her Sad
