Hey so just after some ideas for what to get the little man for his first birthday. He doesn't have many toys I don't want to become inundated with lots of toys and he ends up forgetting they are there and needing a whole room just to store them. I was considering a baby swing or push along car or something. Any ideas or advice on what is definitely a waste of money? At the minute all he has is a few sensory balls, a few musical instruments and musical/flashing light toys.

Mine will be turning 1 soon. I think we will get him a sandpit for the garden. Will entertain him a bit over the summer

Stick to one or two more expensive items rather than hundreds of small ones - if relatives want to buy something they could contribute to a larger gift. Honestly you don't want to be overrun with £10 presents that take up the whole house.

Ideas:
Small slide or climbing frame if you have a garden
Cosy coupe car or ride on if you have a garden
Treasure basket
Sensory "tuff tray"

Mamas and Papas rocking caterpillar. It really is lovely. My granddaughter absolutely loves it and it can be kept for generations.

We are getting my soon to be one year old a 'Busy board' from Etsy. Problem solving toys are nice for this age group and don't take up much room eg Shape sorter,
Wooden ring stacker, Peg puzzles.

For my dc, we got a few practical bits like a Nuby Boogie cup, egg cup and a Skip Hop snack pot.
We also got a lovely hanging canvas height chart because it’s a tradition in our family to measure and record each child’s height every birthday.
Box set of Usborne Pop-up fairy tale books
Paddling pool and bubble machine for the garden
Wooden click clack track and a pull-along puppy for indoors
