Looking for opinions. Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place.

Bit of background. My eldest childs dad never wanted anything to do with him until I moved away and met someone else. He went to court, got given access but then decided he didnt want to anymore so gave up. This was nearly 4 years ago. When going thru this my lawyer advised me to clam csa off him and it would prove if he was doing this for the right reasons. Of course as soon as that was put in place he stopped wanting to see him and asked for payments to be cancelled by me.

I thought I did cancel the case as I havent heard anything in years.

I got a text from csa today saying a payment will be made in the next 3 days so I phoned to see if it was legit and it is. They found out where he works and have arrested his wages or hes now claiming benefits. He racked up some amount of csa debt.

My question is...

Would you keep it and put it in a bank account for son or not give him the satisfaction of being able to say he ever contributed?

Keep it, put in a bank account for your son. Your son is more important than your pride.

Your dc isn't pay per view... His df should be paying Cms regardless of any contact happening /not happening.. My dd's df walked away when she was 2. Paid until she was 18..

Keep it. Save it if you would like but if you want or need it for yourself, use it. It’s money owed to you after all.

It’s money for your son - don’t deprive him of it for the sake of point scoring.
