Cold and teething!

Does anyone have any tips for a 9m old that’s breaking two new teeth AND has caught a cold?

Giving the standard nurofen and calpol intermittently but his nose is so stuffy and he’s fuming all the time ☹️Won’t let me touch it.

It’s the first time he’s been ill and it’s pretty brutal, his face must be in agony right now.

Exactly the same here, teething and a grumpy ( understandably) 11 month old, apart from calpol, ice pops and vaseline around his endless runny nose and baby snuff on his chest theres not much more I can think of, he does like to chew on a damp clean muslin cloth that's been in freezer for 15 ish mins, and has a inhaler from gp to help with his chest. Hope this helps.

I also have a vicks plug in near where he sleeps that seems to help too.

Ooooo I like those ideas thanks @BirdyBee ice pops are on the shopping list he loves them too.

It feels so cruel, sometimes he just sits on my lap and leans in and zones out. Bless him.

A humidifier (can get them for about £25 on Amazon) with some (a lot of!) olbas oil for kids in their room overnight works wonders. Also tilting the cot/mattress if you can. It’s horrible but even if nothing helps, it’ll pass soon.

Same here with 10 month old. He seems to be teething all 4 top teeth at once.

I have been cutting apples into a large quarter and he quite likes chewing on them.

Otherwise, he likes the pram, so we walk a lot if moany mood

Anbesol liquid (not gel) and ice lollies made with milk.

Thanks everyone, been to the shops and purchase icelolly makers and currently have his formula freezing for tomorrow’s lollies.
And some anbesol we should be sorted.

@Caspianberg 4 teeth sounds brutal!! Hope they’re ok and it doesn’t last long. And yeah totally agree, I think a pram is the best invention for parents. He chilled in the garden watching me potter about quite happy, even napped.
