Blood in poo

6 week old DS just had a small (very small tbf) single streak of blood in his nappy.

He has done 3 large poos one after the other this evening and the last one, with the bloody streak was a little runny (he has been gripey all day so I'm assuming he may have needed to go for a while poor thing!).

Should I be worrying do you think or does it sound like just from the strain of going? I will mention it to HV as they are ringing this week anyway.

Personally I would monitor and see if it happens again. Sounds like he had been straining maybe. Definitely mention to HV this week and call doctors if it happens again. Hope your DS is okay. X

I had exactly the same thing happen with my baby and I was completely terrified. After many trips to the doctor we discovered that he was dairy intolerant. We put him on a prescribed dairy free formula and he has been fine since. It’s definitely something worth considering if it continues.

I remember how scary it was and hope your little one is ok xx
