Just waiting on phone call re this review and wondered what it's like elsewhere at moment.

I've posted on a few threads about newborn baby who is 14 weeks and yet to see a midwife or health visitor since birth.

I've now been sent a survey by a health visitor I don't know who is calling today about dd1 to do her review.

Is everywhere doing these by phone or is this another health board specific issue.

It's not that big an issue for me I suppose personally but I am concerned overall about community care. I was involved in child protection at court level as a solicitor pre babies and it concerns me that young children are being missed.

I have a friend central Scotland and her hV came to house. One in highlands and she went to surgery.

What's it been like with you?

I an suffering from PND in anxiety form so it's not like they have assumed second baby, all is well. Not the contrary I have said that I'm isolated and struggling and I'm still not "seen".

My DD has just turned 1 and I had a phone call from the HV to do her review last week. Haven’t seen any HVs in person since she was 2 weeks old. She hasn’t been weighed since her 8 week check by the doctor.

My baby’s 10 month review was done via video call. He was born just before lockdown and has been weighed on nice by health visitor when I raised some concerns. I had quite bad pnd and midwives gave support for a month but after that I had one phone call from the health visitor, I’ve been ok but it made me worry about the people that aren’t ok and aren’t reaching out for support.
My older DDs 2.5 year review pre COVID was just a form and an optional visit at a health centre

Oh yes forgot the doctor did do 8 week check when she got vaccines.

Yes, there's been times I've needed support but have tended to come here rather than calling a stranger who never calls back. I've worried about myself at times and often thought of others.

I know it's strangers here but health visitor seems different.

Just wondered if it was a postcode lottery again or more overall. Crazy when you think of the close contact midwifes in hospital have.
