Stair gate (or something) for front door.

Hi. I’m hoping someone has some suggestions.

So our house has a lot of glass which means it gets so hot in summer, it is unbearable unless we have the front and back door open. We have a 15 month old who loves being outside so wants to be out all the time. I was wondering if you could get a stair gate, or something similar to put on the front door, so my little one can’t get out the house? I was thinking of the pressure fit gates that might fit in the door frame.

The only other option would be a long stair gate attached to the walls across the hall way, I don’t really want to do this though. We can’t leave the door open for little one to walk in and out as there are steps down to ground level.

Any suggestions would be great. X

Have you seen the retractable stair gates? I’ve seen those work well on outside doors as you attach them to the wall rather than the door frame so they don’t block the door
