Sudden increase in amount baby poos

Hi please could I have some advice. My DS is three and a half months old and is formula fed. He used to poo once a day. Very occasionally he would go a day without pooing or do two in one day, but on the whole it was usually once a day.

In the last three days he has suddenly started doing six or seven poos a day, usually while having a feed. It’s the same colour (yellow) and consistency as usual. They’re about medium size.

My DS doesn’t seem to be in any pain and otherwise seems his normal self. He is feeding as usual and I haven’t changed his milk.

Is this a normal part of development or should I be concerned and be ringing the health visitor or doctor? It feels like I have a newborn again! Thank you.

Has he just had his vaccinations?

No. It’s been over three weeks since his last vaccinations.

Hmm. If he is happy and health then I would watch and wait and be extra vigilant for nappy rash.
