My ds has been dry for well over a year and completely dry at night too. In the last few weeks he has started having accidents after not really having any after the initial 2 weeks potty training period. In the past three weeks He's wet himself maybe 5 times in two weeks at preschool, 3 times at home and pooped in his pants twice. He says it just happens and he doesn't get a warning, no pains or stinging so don't think urine infection is a cause. Just wondered what other reasons there might be? He drinks a lot and holds his wee as doesn't want to stop playing but I don't understand why he is now soiling him self. Any ideas?

He could have constipation. Even if he’s poohing regularly!

Look at this website www.eric.org.uk/

I think you may be right! I didn't at first as he poos regularly but he's really struggling now and what is coming out is getting softer and almost paste like (sorry for details). I feel like constipation is something we can help to resolve so although it's not pleasant for him I'm glad it doesn't seem to be some form of potty regression. I never would have thought of it though! That link was useful thanks.
