Does anyone else have a baby who prefers to scavenge for his food?

A bit light hearted kinda but also doing my head in!

My 14 month old will eat anything and everything off the floor, comes after us the second he sniffs us eating anything, will stand and whine until we give him some. But God Forbid I put him in the high chair and put food in front of him or try to feed him his meals.
Big fuss, food thrown over.

If I put him on the floor and put the food on the floor he's happy and crawls around HmmConfused

Mine is 9 now, but I always remember a poster who claimed she used to tie a string to broccoli etc and tug it along the floor, because her DS would only eat greens if he could 'hunt' them Grin

Mine is 19 months but yes. She will even ask for food/a drink but then throw herself on the floor if I have the audacity to hand it to her. I have to leave it somewhere and she'll find it herself😂

Oh my goodness this sounds just like my baby. My older son was never like this, but he wasn't a fan of food in general and still isn't.

This little guy loves food but only on his own terms. Maybe I need to try the string!

My 11 month old is like this!! We have to add extra to our plates and if he’s having his own lunch, I have to hide it under my plate so he thinks it’s mine.

He also likes to throw all of his food on the floor and eat it from there.

Drives me mad.

My DD's ate far better at the table (took the tray off so right at the table) and we ate at the same time. Also for veggies don't forget to always serve a "dip" aka yogurt, mayo or ketchup - far better compliance

DS is 15 mths old and is exactly like this when it comes to toast and other dry snacks other kids his age love. His morning snack is usually a trail of raisins from my office to his dad’s. God knows how many spiders and insects he eats along the way Confused

But he eats his meals fine on the highchair and even uses a spoon! Maybe he’s only half wild.

Mine is picking up crumbs off the floor right now.

My DH & I are convinced he was a raccoon in his past life, he's now figured out how to open our bin and goes dumpster diving for scraps Confused
