potty training - is this a cunning plan or daft idea?

Could I put ds in pants and cover them with a wrap from his reusable napppies? Then he would get the feeling of being wet etc without so many wet patches on sofas etc?

I fear I am just being stupid.

In theory yes but I think you need to go cold turkey to really hit it home to them that they need to use the potty.

So would just be prolonging the agony and delaying the inevitable then?

I think so. I have just trained ds2 and the one thing that really seemed to click with him was that if he had a wee and it wasn't on the potty then it would end up all down his legs/on his trousers. I did use training pants for out and about though and they were good for him feeling wet without the need to clean up.
