4 month old shouting

In the last few days 16 week old DD has discovered a new mode of communication... It sounds like the battle cry of a raging warrior. It is SO LOUD. I can’t really tell what it means - it sounds angry, but not exactly distressed, and she’ll smile sweetly if, say, she’s shouting from her playmat and I call to her. It’s kind of amusing in daylight hours but the trouble is, combined with the 4 month sleep regression this is happening /every hour/ at night. She still has her eyes closed at this point but I can’t leave her to see if she’ll settle because the whole world would wake up. We live in a terraced house and the neighbours’ bedroom is next to ours. Blush Anyone else had this? How long did it last?!

It's totally normal and hilariously cute (although not in the middle of the night!). Don't worry about your neighbours either, they'll understand!

Screw the neighbours.

Our DC has started babbling and oh my god when he’s angry he angrily babbles and it’s too cute that he’s shouting at us 😂🤭

Yup. My DS did it for a month or two until he learnt different sounds.

DD did this, once in church the vicar thought someone had brought in their dog!

Dd used to screech like a wounded dog. I couldn’t believe something so small and cute could make such a sound!

It was about 2/3 weeks until she’s learnt how to make a pop noise (much kinder on the ears) that she forgot about it.

Thanks everyone! I’m hoping it’ll be weeks rather than months... 😬 but will look forward to whatever’s next! She’s already mastered angelic dove and tiny dinosaur.
