Looking for recommendations....

My little girl has just turned 1, and loves books! And I’m so thrilled about that, because I loved to read as a child and still do now, and would love her to enjoy it too.
We have lots of books, from ‘that’s not my...’ etc and then some more story books, some of mine from when I was little etc, and we read a lot. But I’d like to get some really good solid ones, that she’ll enjoy for a long time, so wondering what were/are you children’s favourite books from 1 upwards?

Thanks ;)

A series of books called 'Flip Flap' such as Flip Dinosaurs or Flip Flap Pets. The pages are in halves so you can turn one half or both, creating silly creatures, with a description of them (like top half dog, bottom half rabbit).

Juli Donaldson books are lovely. Our favourites were Gruffalo, Gruffalos child, Tiddler, and What the Ladybird Heard

Hairy Maclary is fun to read aloud. I love the Alfie books by Shirley Hughes, and any Kim Lewis books.

Each peach pear plum , ten little fingers ten little toes, peepo, where's spot, dear zoo, the baby's catalogue, as much as I love Julia Donaldson personally I like to introduce these ones after they are 2/3 as I feel they are a bit lost on babies and by the time they are old enough to follow it they aren't as excited by them as they have been familiar with them for ages if that makes sense. ( Just my opinion as an early years teacher) the ones that are more age appropriate are fox's socks, rabbits nap, postman bear, hide and seek pig.

There’s a monster in your book is good.

@rubiales678 Couldn't agree with you more on the Julia Donaldson books, we made that mistake with DS1 and now he's nearly 4 but hasn't been interested in them for ages because we read them too soon.

OP, we loved the Pip and Posy books, also the Baby's Catalogue is my all time favourite board book. Each Peach Pear Plum too.

Another vote for Peck, Peck, Peck! It’s a lot of fun. Also There’s A Bear In My Chair.
