Pretty much the title, baby up what feels like a million times a night! She still has one feed through the night, but wakes constantly and can take awhile to settle back downvsometimes. She goes to bed well we have a lovely routine that works great, but soon as we get to 10.30 she constantly wakes. Any tips? Please tell me it gets better! Haha 😀

Could she actually be hungry with a growth spurt? If you offer a feed will she sleep longer? There is a sleep regression. There always is. And leaps (wonder weeks). And Teething. Sleep associations. So many reasons!! My 8 month old is terrible too. My son was better. I don't fancy sleep training so just going with it. Sorry not much advice!!

Although one thing to share... I heard of Iron is low then baby will wake lots cos of achey legs etc. So you could try to incorporate more iron in diet if weaning! (sweet potato, peas, beans, egg)

Thank you for your replies, she has a bottle between 12 & 1 usually. So don't think she is hungry. Thank goodness for coffee! I will add more of these foods to her diet, we've only being weaning a few weeks.

How is she put to sleep?

Rainbow714 · 05/03/2021 09:33

@yahyahs22 what do you mean? Her bedtime routine?

I mean is she rocked or fed to sleep? Or is she just put down to get to sleep by herself?

Rainbow714 · 05/03/2021 10:43

It varys really, sometimes she will fall asleep on her bottle but others time can put her down awake x

keep her awake more in the day and stop going to her of a night she’l soon learn to sleep through

Rainbow714 · 05/03/2021 13:06

That's the thing she doesn't nap much in the day neither, she will get up at 6 have an hour sometimes a little longer in the morning then an hour in the afternoon. She never naps after 2.30 so is shattered and ready for bed by 6.30/6.45. Thank you for your advice, hoping it's just a stage xx

I think only one feed a night for a 6 month old seems like not very much. Both of mine still had usually 2 feeds still at that age. I found feed her when she wakes. There's no harm in doing in and she's more likely to sleep if she's got a full belly.

But at 6 months, there could be so much going on. Teething caused waking about every 30 minutes to an hour. Does calpol help? Also when we first started solids, it caused lots of night wakings as well and I could hear lots of tummy rumblings.
