Ds wore boxers by then

PolarnOPirate · 02/03/2021 21:04

DS has a mix of pants and trunks - not loose boxers but the tight kind of shorts. He doesn’t complain about either. I don’t understand how boxers could be comfy under trousers 😄

DS1 wore mostly boxers by that age because he was a "big boy like daddy". I used to have to push the legs back down inside his trousers Grin
DS2 didn't like boxers until he was about 11. Actually he'd probably still wear pants now if that's what was in his drawer.

Trunks- the snug kind. Don't like the flappy kind

EvilOnion · 02/03/2021 21:14

We had a mix I think, DS didn't care so used to get whichever he liked the colour of.

Pants.

Doggitydog · 02/03/2021 21:20

Shorts type, like boxers but tighter.

Bunnybigears · 02/03/2021 21:22

Trunk style boxers the tight fit ones

Anoisagusaris · 02/03/2021 21:22

Trunks

DreamEvenBigger · 02/03/2021 21:23

Trunks. Practical and comfortable.

BikeRunSki · 02/03/2021 21:24

Trunks
Still wearing trunks at 12

Wowcherarestalkingme · 02/03/2021 21:25

I just had this exact conversation with DH as DS4 needs new underwear. He’s always worn pants so I went with pants again but I know most of my friends with boys the same age are in trunks. Like others though I think they look uncomfortable. Maybe next time I’ll take him to a shop and let him choose

ValpolicellaPrimitivo · 02/03/2021 21:31

DS is 4, refused to wear pants so has only ever worn tight boxers/trunks.

novaparty12 · 02/03/2021 21:40

My son wore pants until in was in year 3 and when they were changing for PE one of the boys called him a baby because he wore pants - his response was "babies wear nappies - not pants", it certainly shut the boy up but since then he has always worn trunks. They are definitley more the norm for older boys. My nephews are 2.5 and 4 and both wear pants but my brother finds trunks really uncomfortable so I think he just presumes his sons will too!!
