2nd child?

Hi everyone,

I am contenplating whether to have a second child.
DD is now 13 months, so would start trying in 6 months earliest.
The stats: my partner and I are 37 and both working for the NHS. Long hours, nights, weekends etc... The past year almost broke us. We're coping but it's hard to juggle everything. Having a newborn again sort of fills me with dread.
On the other hand, it would be nice ro have a sibling for the little one. And it surely would be nice in the long run... On holidays, weekend etc when they can entertain each other/ play.

I am just looking for your experiences/ thoughts.
Would you have another one?

DH and I have stopped at one child for similar reasons. Our jobs are busy and the newborn/toddler stage is killer, I couldn't do it again. In fact the newborn stage was a piece of piss compared with a 2 year old.

We discussed it at length and, although we agreed it would be lovely for DS to have a sibling, we'd be very stressed and would struggle to make ends meet, and for us it's just not worth it.

Same here - I really love my job and want to travel (one day post covid) and so for mental health, life, financial reasons we are stopping at 1.
