@EvilOnion

These same arguments have been happening on here since I joined in 2008, they're not new it's just more commonly known/discussed nowadays!

My eldest FF from 9 months because all my research was based on asking people I knew, legal guidelines and info that I could find easily online from stores and other parents. I had more info and knowledge by the time my youngest came along so we rear faced until the seat was outgrown at 4 years old.

It's not that people don't research or care about the safety aspect it's about how people gather information and what resources they have available to them.

Even now I only know 3 people who use ERF seats because it's not the norm!

Agreed. When looking for a new seat when DS grew out of his baby one, mothercare staff told me to go FF instead as it saves space and is still "just as safe". How can we expect the majority of people to use these seats when all the easily accessible advice is that they go FF at 9 or 15 months.

I don't know how I knew about extended rear facing, (maybe on here) but it was just by chance that I even knew they existed.

Mearly 4years old. Rear facing. Will remain so as long as its physically possible to fit her into a rf seat.

Our two moved from RF to FF just before they were 2, IIRC. But it was based on their weight, rather than age, I seem to remember.

4yr and 18month. Both rear facing and will be until they outgrow their 25kg seat (about 6-7yrs)

6 years old - rear-facing. She's in a up to 25kg seat and it will last her a while yet as she's small. She was in a forward-facing high-backed booster in her childminder's car last year. She's never asked to forward-face in our cars.
