Stroller for tall 1yo

We're going to have to retire our Maxi Cosi Zelia, which was both our son's pram, then the bassinet converted into the stroller seat. He's now too wide for it and almost too tall, despite being well within the alleged weight range?!

Can you recommend a good, sturdy stroller for a tall 12mo? We'd like adjustable height handles for us if poss, and folding down relatively small as it has to live in the car boot.

Thanks.

Hey there!

That is the danger of a 2in1 seat-bassinet, unfortunately - it is rarely (pretty much never) spacious enough for any weight capacity they claim. Normally, a convertible system lasts about a year, year and a half - the better one two years, not more.

I wrote an article about the danger of full stroller systems - mainly from the point of longevity, it is always important to look at the seat size. Also, the seat reversibility doesn't help the spaciousness much, either. But that is normal, and a mom usually ends up owning with at least two prams - the needs of the kid change anyway, and you'll be glad to have swapped for something less bulky, ideally non-reversible, in the end, you'll see. The more so if your child is tall.

I am not sure what your budget is, but I would go for anything from a Baby Jogger City Mini GT2/Thule Spring to something more affordable like a Kinderkraft Grande LX (check the Kinderkraft Grande reviews before buying, so you knwo what you go for, and count on that the low price will be reflected in the quality of the push...

If unsure, let me know your budget, I'll think of more recommendations ;-)

I had this issue. We went with the Joie nitro. Doesn't have adjustable handles but folds down to fit nicely in the boot. It's got a lot more height left in it for our very tall 16 mo. Can adjust the seat for naps. The rain cover is a bit too short imo, but I'm happy with it overall. Much lighter and smaller than our Mothercare journey edit!

We’ve just got an out and about nipper for our 18 month old and my eldest who is a tall 5 year old manages to fit into it.
It doesn’t fold down that small but you can remove the wheels, it fits in the boot of our seat leon without doing this though. The handle has 3 adjustments, we took it to the beach yesterday and it was fab.
