Baby after 45 years old......?

I've just had a baby at 43 a month before my 44th birthday, after suffering 2 miscarriages. I'm now wondering whether I should try to try for another, but have a time frame of 45 years age at the potential birth! Are there any other older mums out there...? I'm probably crazy for thinking of having another as it's SO tiring at 44!!!

Don't do it. Your hormones are in overdrive after having a baby. Nature wants you to reproduce while you can but it will be extremely knackering. Motherhood is intense. And far more intense whith two than with one. Good luck, hope you can make a decision either way.

If you had a baby naturally at 43 then there’s no reason why you physically can’t have another at 45. A few of my cousins had two from 45 and managed just fine but they were always really healthy and managed to cope fine.

I know of a woman who had her children at 42, 44 and 46.

If you want to and can get pregnant, why not? Go for it!

Mumsnet hates older mums so brace yourself for lots of 'don't do it' posts.
