Omg 4 month sleep regression

When will it end!!!?? 4 month sleep regression is a killer! I forgot what it felt like to be up constantly in the night as my baby was such a good sleeper from 8 weeks onwards (she's now 19 weeks) she used to go stretches of 10-12 hours sleep, I know I'm so lucky! But it's all gone out of the window and she's waking constantly in the night for the past week

How long did your babies regression last for? Also I'm feeding her every time she wakes as I know that gets her back to sleep but should I be? I obviously don't want to starve her but should I be letting her try to self soothe before I feed her as she generally slept through the night anyway

Thanks from a very tired mum! Sad

I haven’t yet reached the 4 month sleep regression so please feel free to ignore this post! But my understanding from what I have read is that it’s not so much a sleep regression as a change to the way babies sleep entirely, so that instead of falling into the very deep sleep of a newborn, they adopt a more adult sleep pattern of cycles, where they wake in between. They therefore need to learn to self-soothe back to sleep, rather than being soothed back by a caregiver. I have been told that helping them learn to fall asleep on their own when you lay them down for the night can help them learn, so setting them down while still awake instead of feeding to sleep etc, so they learn to fall asleep by themselves. That said I’ve not tried it yet so who knows how easy it is in practice!
