Shaved head on toddler, does it look awful/rough?

Lockdown hair on my toddler DS is becoming an issue!
It seems to be driving him mad in his eyes, I've tried trimming the fringe, it looks pretty bad and I was thinking of just shaving it off!

I can't blend it, I'm just no good at it even with watching tutorials.

So my question, do you think it looks super rough on little boys to have a shaved head.

I would do it in the highest setting of clippers but it will still be pretty short and the same length all over..

Go blade 2 or above or yes it does look a bit off on a kid.

Set the clippers to a 4 or longer and it will be fine.

Couple of kids near hear with close cropped hair. Mum obviously got the clippers out, doesn't look too bad and it'll grow back.

It will be fine. Go for a 4 or higher. It will grow very quickly. (Personally it isn't my favourite look but my kids have had them at different times....not just because of lockdown. They are never bothered.)

I think you’re trying to do what’s best for your son - there’s a lot of dodgy hair cuts going around, don’t worry about it - just go for it I say!

xHeartinacagex · 21/02/2021 14:50

Go for a number 3 or 4. I think anything less does look a bit rough to be honest.

These aren't exactly normal times though and a lot of kids (and adults!) Have dodgy lockdown hair, so it's not the end of the world if it doesn't suit him.

I used to have to do DS1’s hair all over on a 5/6 when he was little. He just wouldn’t sit still in the hairdressers/barbers & would scream (ADHD/ASD). It wasn’t my favourite look but it was fine. Better than long hair which would have no doubt been a daily trauma to brush! 😂

MyFloorIsLava · 21/02/2021 14:52

I don't really like it. My son had a pretty short haircut last year before his grommets went in, as he wouldn't be able to have baths for while. I wasn't keen and don't like the photos, even compared to the enormous mop he's sporting now.

I put mine in the bath, got his hair wet, combed it up into a "unicorn horn" and did one big snip. Instant fringe.

My ds is just 3, and has been having lockdown haircuts for the last year or so, I think he looks really smart with his hair nice and short, but it helps that he has lovely thick hair anyway. I do it on the longest clipper setting, and then trim it closer around the ears and neckline. It's so much less stressful for him in the mornings too, I don't have to battle with him to brush it nicely, it's a quick swipe with a comb and done.

Anything over a 3 would be suitable not to short but short enough.
