6 months old and still struggling with wind

Hello everyone. Really need your help! My LB is 6 months old. He is EBF and we have recently started him on solids. Mainly banana, carrot, porridge and pear.

However, he has always struggled at night. I think he has real trouble with trapped gas.
I was hoping this would have subsided by now as his gut matures but he seems to be getting worse! He wriggles around all night and needs to be in our arms a lot.

We have previously been on meds for silent reflux but this didn't seems to make any difference at night so we weaned him off over a few weeks.

I try everything else like massage and went for a period of 2 months without dairy egg or soya which didn't make any difference either. He had his tongue tie corrected at 10 weeks old and I've had dentists confirm he does not seem to have a lip tie.

Recently I've been struggling to get his weight up and he's been sat at 7kg for the whole of this month. He still poops daily and lots of wet nappies too. He's generally a very happy baby and developmentally advanced but at night he barely settled for more than an hour.

I'm going to buy some probiotics for him today. And I am going to phone my gp on Monday and ask for some kind of referral. The health visitor is also coming on Wednesday.

Has anyone else experienced this? Or does anyone have any advice? I hate seeing him uncomfortable and I need a good sleep!!

I'm going to go Dairy and soya free again just to check but has anyone got any recommendations for a dietitian? We are in Edinburgh and think we may need a little extra help

I really think there's something wrong with his gut!!!

Thanks so much in advance!

Hello kleightin did you see any improvement with the wind after probiotics?. My 6 month old has the same problem, passing wind at night and waking up crying.

I would say maybe try cutting out the banana for starters? Ir can cause constipation and I know your son doesn’t have that, but I’m wondering if it might be giving him stomach aches/gas as well?
