Toddler knocked a tooth out - anyone else been through this?

Omg, toddler fell today while playing and knocked her front tooth clean out.... dentist has reinserted the tooth and glued in place but I am now just so paranoid over anything she does or eats incase it comes out again. She is 3.5 so ages till her big teeth are due to come.

Anyone else been through this and can hand hold me. My anxiety is through the roof and I feel constantly sick. Was horrid watching them put it back in but my little one is such a trooper and barely cried. The tooth is now not sitting straight so I am worried it wont take.

Anyone else had this? What happened? Did they have a gap until 5/6 when the proper tooth came, did the baby tooth take again and stay in properly? How long do I need to wait before she can eat properly again without me being paranoid

Any suggestions for soft food? We have baby pouches/yogurt/smoothies/ice cream and things like curries etc but She wont eat soup and does like her sandwiches.

Thank you for reading

I am surprised as to why the dentist did that if its her baby tooth because it would have fell out and her adult tooth would have grown but the dentist knows what they are doing and mum I would not worry, honestly, kid have so many accidents and that is how they learn and grow. Her teeth will be fine and will fall out if its her baby teeth so do not worry, give her normal food she likes but yes, obv keep an eye and keep taking her dentist I have two kids 11 and 14 so yes, been there, they had a few accicents but yes, okay!! Good luck mum

Sorry should have clarified. We are going back to the dentist in a few weeks to remove the glue so the tooth can fall out naturally when it's meant to. As long as it doesnt fall out before then! Sad

I knocked my front teeth out at 2yrs and 2 months on Xmas Day! Went to A+E but didn't have the baby ones reinserted. I did have the gap until my adult ones came in about 5ish, but no long term issues.

A little girl I used to have in nursery years ago fell outside and knocked her two front teeth out. Mum took her to the dentist and they checked to make sure no damage had been done to the gums and said the adult teeth would come through eventually when they were ready, so she just had the gap for quite a while until her big teeth were ready. She's in year 6 now and the adult teeth have been through for ages. Hope this helps Smile

I bumped my little sister's tooth out by accident (long story Blush) when she was 3. I think her adult tooth came through at around 8/9.

DS smashed one of his front teeth not long after it came through, so had half a tooth until it fell out. His adult teeth have come in fine though.
