Taking 8 week old baby to firework display

I really want to go to one of the local firework displays tonight but dh says that the sheer volume of the noisy fireworks will not be good for dd who is 8 weeks old. I was planning on taking her in the pouch sling with her hat pulled over her ears. It didn't really occur to me that I wouldn't be able to take her. Anyone have any advice?

It's never stopped me- we took ds2 ages a few months to an airshow, far noisier- just as you say, with hat over ears. No doubt LO will let you know if distressed!

if dh doesn't want her to go then i would not go tbh...not worht fighting over..and some displays are very loud

I probably would n't - partly cos it is likely to be fairly cold and partly cos I think she might start at each bang and possibly cry. There will be plenty of other opportunities when she may enjoy it once she is older. If you do go and she gets upset or needs feeding can you make a swift exit ?

Our local pub just over a mile away is having a bonfire/bbq/firework display which is the one I would like to go to. It would take about 2 minutes to get home in the car if things went pear shaped.

Will you be able to get away in the car easily though. One display I know of is so well attended that they close the roads for a mile radius around and you park in a dark field and walk !
