Going up a test size

My baby is 7 weeks and on the tommee tippee bottles.

Lately he's been falling asleep during feeds, and sometimes getting really frustrated and irritable halfway through (if he doesn't fall asleep).

I thought about trying size 2 teats and tried one today and he took the whole bottle (120ml) for the first time in ages, but 10/15 mins later he spit quite a bit up.

Does this mean he's not ready for size 2? Or should I persevere so he gets used to the medium flow speed?

Also I know the guide for sizes says 3+ months for size 2, but he keeps falling asleep part way through and then waking up starving!

I would say persist and maybe stop to wind baby every couple of oz. My son was the same. He never followed the guides. He was on teat 2 about 10 weeks. Teat 3 around 5 months and teat 4 around 7 months. I really do think you would know if the teat wasn't appropriate as I'd imagine baby would be spluttering. We had a dodgy teat when baby was a new born and it was like he was drowning it was awful. Couldn't work out what was going on. X

I would persist.. the slower teat is clearly annoying him. It can take them a little while to adjust, Google paced feeding and do that for a little while and wind half way through.

When I changed my baby she was being sick for around 2 days as she adjusted but she was much happier!

Thanks all will stick with it for now. Second feed already went better with less spitting up so fingers crossed he adapts soon!
