Timodine for nappy rash

Having a nappy rash nightmare and it's making me completely depressed

My poor little new baby has raw nappy rash

We've now been prescribed timodine for her bum and nystan for her oral thrush

Does anyone have any experiences of how long timodine has taken to work for you? 4 full days and it still looks the same to me

We've been told to give it 7 days and the cream can't be used for any longer than that. I rang the GP again after 3 days to say I didn't feel like we were having any improvement and he said that he'd expect to not see improvements until day 5.

I'm really struggling

Can I ask what wipes you are using? DS and DN could only tolerate water or camomile tea and cotton wool.

Probably you already know but the worst cases of nappy rash we used to see were in babies whose mothers used things like Sudocrem. Any oily occlusive cream will transfer to the nappy surface and make it less absorbent so keep the urine on the skin. Are you using any other nappy creams? If so, please don't
Timodine is fine as it is a light texture

We're just using timodine on it's own, following nappy changes with just water and cotton wool. I just hoped people would have some experience of how long it has taken to work for them?

Metanium (sp?) Was the best and only thing I ever used it was just brilliant for putting it on at night and the next day the rash was gone, I cannot recommend it highly enough
