Potty training

So we are on day 4 of potty training, he knows when he needs to go and is saying he needs to have a wee but isn't using the potty. He is sitting down on it for literally 2 seconds then gets up and wees somewhere else, trying with all the praise but not working, he won't sit down for any time on the potty at all, tried books etc and it's just down and up straight away. At a loss and feel I'm banging my head against a brick wall with it really, any advice would be much appreciated!

Potty trained my dd recently and these things helped:
Blowing bubbles on the potty (and only there)
Running the taps to encourage a wee while she was sitting
Not prompting her too much, not making her sit if she got up,not telling her to go, just saying 'you know where to go if you need a wee' or 'it looks like you need a wee' and then backing off
Being naked waist down for a while before adding clothes
