My daughter is 2.9 years and loves reading but I am bored to death of all our books. Planning to do a big order of 10 or so new books to last us the rest of lockdown and would love some recommendations please. Thanks!

I'm assuming you've Dear Zoo, Hungry Caterpillar and The Gruffalo? Love the Muddypaws books and Judith Kerr's mog series. Hmmm can't think of any, maybe go to you tube and search books for 3 year olds and now so many authors read books on you tube and you might find some you'll want to buy? We blindly bought some books in lockdown 1 and only liked about half of them and they're so expensive!

I've just been looking for my nephew. www.bookdepository.com/category/3393/Books-for-Ages-3-5 Sorted by most popular.

You can see Goodreads ratings on there too.

Can you reserve online and do click and collect at your local library?

I love ‘we all join in’ and ‘mr magnolia’ by Quentin Blake. And yes to Julia Donaldson and Shirley whatsername with the Alfie books. The tiger who came to tea.

The Bartholomew Bear stories by Virginia Miller - there’s a book that’s 5 stories in 1- are really sweet for 3 year olds.

pootleplumtrinket · 12/02/2021 22:32

My 3 year old loves Lulu books, plus everything Julia Donaldson has written, the Mog books, Meg and Mog, the Ahlberg books.

Percy the park keeper.
Oi puppies.

Bit later - slinky Malinki. Dr Zeus.

I don’t like Supertato but my daughter likes.

Julia Donaldson has loads of books. Oliver jefferies books are nice.

I like Jonny Duddle, especially the pirate books.

The other thing you could do is look at publishers. Nosy crow. Barefoot books have stories from around the world. They are really good if you are getting bored of books, they have collections.

Usborne have lift the flaps books for young children. The body, space. Nice pictures.
