How is are you coping in this lockdown? I'm bored to tears. I have no idea how entertain my 9 month old every single day. Walks are great but when its snowing and you're doing the same walk every single day it gets a bit tedious! Any activities you do that your little one loves??

My ds is 7mo and I feel the same 😔 don't really have any advice or ideas as I'm the same, walks, playing with toys, tv and meals are pretty much his only form of entertainment! It's so hard isn't it, I completely understand x

Household items, not toys, we find! Pulling everything out of mummy's handbag, playing with an eggbox, instant joy. Also tonnes of bare bum time, always improved the mood.

Get a hot drink holder for your pram and a good flask, too. Lots and lots of video calls to friends and family.

There’s a great Instagram account called @everyday_weplay which has brilliant ideas for playing with babies.

It's so hard op and I had a similar meltdown yesterday with my 15 month old. Is your baby walking or crawling? I actually find it better now mine does. I really struggled when he just sat there!

I've basically babyproofed my whole house so I split the day into parts and he is with me in whatever room, 'helping' with any chores. I tend to put baby tv on after breakfast for a very small amount of time whilst I clean up breakfast. Then I take him around the house (we walk after lunch).

For example I get the box of tupperware out of the kitchen or 'let' him in in one of the cupboards and he's ecstatic. Giving him a bag or basket of things. The washing is very exciting! I'm taking time to sort out all my wardrobes and go through all my rooms.

You can also make playdough, baking, messy play like things. I got some food colouring and use that in loads of things. Honestly that's when I get momentum though and need to try something. Normally just everyday tasks are better.

Meal times take us ages too.

I have a 3 month old, I know he's a bit young but the library is doing click and collect on books so we walk there twice a week so I don't run out of books to show him.

Look up treasure baskets - real hit with my DS at that age.

He also loved mum and baby workouts on YouTube where he was the weight - gets harder as time goes on as they get heavier!

Yes I second treasure baskets! Fantastic for a 6-12 month old. Mine loved hers full of random household objects - whisks, spatulas, curtain rings, cloths, cork coasters. Try to get a range of materials/textures in there and pack it all into a basket. That used to buy me a good 45 mins of peace when DD was that age. DD2 is 3 months old and I’m struggling to entertain them both now she’s awake for longer - could just about manage the toddler when she slept in the sling!

I’m not coping really. Yesterday I was watching Frozen II with my toddler and four year old and started crying at an emotional bit!

This week we can’t go out at all for ten days as my toddler has been in close contact with a positive case. We get through the days somehow with water play, jelly play, foam play but mainly my toddler (13 months) just climbs lots! Up stairs, on chairs, tables, her buggy.... We build towers and she knocks them over. Long baths. Reading her books over and over. The days do drag and both kids are rarely happy at once!

Mine is only two months but won’t nap and it’s so blasted hard being stuck in with an increasingly fractious baby. I honestly am starting to feel so resentful about all this.

Hi, I hope I'm replying correctly. I tried a few different things. Food before sleep being one. Gentle sleep training is something I haven't tried. I'm looking at some on line stuff right now that looks reasonably priced and worth a try I guess

I’ve got a seven month old and we’ve tried a few things to ease the boredom.

I bought some ball pit balls and used the laundry basket to make an at home ball pit

We used some of the light up sensory balls to have a little rave with the lights off and some 90s music on

We’ve done a couple of milk baths with flowers / fruit and got some lovely photos

To be honest most of this stuff is to amuse me, I think she’d probably be just as happy with a wooden spoon!

9 month old here.
We live where it’s been snowy the last several months. I use to my advantage. He loves the sledge, so I take him for a walk with the sledge a couple of times a week.

Otherwise the same as everyone with pram or sling walks and days at home

I try and split the days up, and he end up going to general trips out to get bits done.
This morning we have done a quick pram walk around block for him to nap, bought him back and he napped 30 more mins whilst I loaded car for tip trip. Have now just been pottering around with him doing laundry, playing with him on floor and some music.
After lunch we will have an exciting drive to the tip! That will pass a bit of time. Will pop in pharmacy and supermarket on way back. Then just play at home late afternoon

We are now allowed to meet up to 4 adults at a time again here since this week, previously no ‘bubbles’ existed here. So I have also been to neighbours house this week and we will probably meet them at ours or there’s at least once or twice a week now onwards. She’s like a surrogate grandma for him, and it’s nice he can start seeing someone else and interacting
