Hello my baby girl is now 14 weeks old. Should she be rolling over back to front by now? She did roll from tummy onto back couple times. Thanks

DS rolled from back to front about 4 months. DD did it maybe around 10 months.

They’re 17 and 15 now and both move fine (although getting 17 year old DS to get out of bed is sometimes an achievement!)

My first never rolled at all.
Second is nearly 5m and has started rolling back to front. It's a nightmare, he hates being on his front but will roll the second you put him down so now I'm up turning him constantly all night because he cries on his front.

My DD rolled from front to back at 5 months but back to front at 8.5 months. She doesn’t do it much though, she prefers to be sitting or held standing up.

My youngest DD rolled just the once, at 7 months old. She never did it again and went on to develop completely normally. Don’t worry about it 😉

When you've left them, for the first time ever, in the middle of your king sized bed while you put some laundry away, safe in the knowledge that they've never shown any inclination to roll Hmm

It is a wide, wide range so you’ll get any number of answers!

About 4-6 months old I think.

Quail15 · 09/02/2021 20:03

Dd rolled over once at 4 months and again accidentally at 7 months - she hated it and screamed. She was walking by 9 months so no issues with her development.

Or indeed this :o

The moment you chance grabbing a fresh pack of wipes from the shopping bag in the hall!

All of mine have rolled at different times ranging from 3 to 5 and a half months

Cruncheyleaves · 09/02/2021 20:10

@gliblet 😂😂😂

My first at 6 or 7 months my second at 2/3 months. There's a big range of normal.

HotDogHotDiggityDog · 09/02/2021 20:21

2 and a half months rolling from tummy to back (she hated tummy time with a vengeance so soon taught herself how to escape it!) and then about 4 months rolling back to tummy.

Legitimacy · 09/02/2021 20:26

Mine started rolling onto his tummy at about 10 weeks

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 09/02/2021 20:27

I think my DS first rolled at 4ish months, but in all honestly he never did it much. I dont think he cared about it that much!

KatyClaire · 09/02/2021 20:40

Mine could roll from tummy to back at 8 weeks, showing absolutely no inclination to roll from back to front.
