Is my 4 month old getting up too early?

My little girl had just turned 4 months and for the past couple of weeks she gets up at 6am. I usually try to leave her for 10 mins to see if she’ll go back to sleep. I also try her dummy to see if that works but usually when she’s up she’s up. So I’ll get her out of bed and give her a bottle and usually I’ll stick the TV on as she likes to watch it haha. Should I be doing this? I’ve found that if she gets up at 6 she usually naps around 7:30 so should I be feeding her then putting her straight back to bed? 🥴 She always looks wide awake but the fact that she’s falling asleep again so quickly makes me think he should be going back down after the bottle. I just usually put the TV on because I though 6am was a normal time for babies to wake haha! Any suggestions would be great, thanks xx

Thinking ahead to the toddler years, 6am is definitely not too early to be getting up. However it’s down to personal choice as to you then want to try and get her back to sleep - if you think the extra hour or two of sleep when she has a bottle and goes back down would help, then use it! What sort of time is she put down to bed and does she sleep through?

It’s normal for them to need their first nap 1.5 hours after waking at that age so don’t worry about that. Also if you’re happy to get up at that time then it’s fine!

Both of mine woke at 6/6.30 at that age (well dc2 is still only 13 weeks but wakes up at 6.30). I’m lazy so I just take her into my bed and give her another feed and that usually buys me another couple of hours sleep and we get up at 8/8.30, then nap at 9.30/10. Not sure if that would work with a bottle but could be worth a try.

My experience with babies is that anything after 6am is a win! My second woke for the day at 8am as a newborn and I felt like I'd hit the jackpot! He's now 1yo and wakes at 5am 🤦‍♀️ but then my 4yo used to be a 5am riser and now wakes at 7.30am. Honestly just roll with it, especially at 4mo. Their sleep patterns change all the time so really not worth getting too worked up by it.

It's normal for them to have a nap so soon after waking up in my experience. My 11 month old can only last 2 hours in the morning before needing a nap. When he was little I would just get up and feed then both go back to bed an hour or so later.
