Mine says ‘Mama’, ‘Dada’ ‘Star’ and ‘Cracker’. He’s good at imitating lots of other words but doesn’t offer them by himself. I’ve read to him daily since he was a few weeks old and constantly chat to him so I know I can’t do anything more. His understanding is excellent, though.

I initially worried as he was very late to babble (11 months) but was a very early walker (9 months). Friends’ children of a similar age who talked early have only just started walking; my theory is that they tend to prioritise one over the other.

@Kokosrieksts @Allthenumbers yes definitely a personality thing. I think my now 3 year old was taking it all in. He also seemed shy about speaking. Einstein didn’t talk until 3, so was a very late speaker. I do find this my kid did this at this age and my kid did that at that age all a bit competitive. I mean I know we all think our own children are advanced or gifted in some way, but reality is how they are when tiny bears little relationship to how they will be as an adult when fully educated. 🤷🏽‍♀️
