1yr old white poo and throwing up clear liquid

Our 1 yr old has been on omeorazole for a few weeks as still suffers from reflux. Since he started we have had no vomiting.

Today he has started throwing up clear liquid....once this morning and 2 or 3 times tonight....I have also just had to change a very pale / white nappy.

Is this OK or should I be worried?

Call 111 right away, this can be a sign of several serious illnesses.

Allthenumbers · 05/02/2021 19:16

That doesn’t sound right to me at all. I’d call 111 and given it is Friday evening prepare to go to hospital.

Thatwentbadly · 05/02/2021 19:17

Definitely seek medical advice tonight.

Yeah I'd be properly alarmed OP, you need a doctor.

pingster · 05/02/2021 19:23

My ds had this at a similar age. Turned out to be some kind of viral hepatitis they never worked out exactly what. He spent a week in hospital but was completely fine after that. Is he at all jaundiced? My ds had slightly yellow eyes that I didn't notice initially.

Cherry85 · 05/02/2021 19:25

He had his jags a week ago....could it be to do with that? On hold to NHS 24

White poo is a bad sign. He needs to be seen by a doctor. If you can grab a sample of the poo and put it in a clean jam jar, take it with you to the doctors appointment

pollylocketpickedapocket · 05/02/2021 19:27

Go to a&e. Don’t wait on hold.

LaLaLandIsNoFun · 05/02/2021 19:28

Another one saying this needs to been seen immediately.

Hope he’s ok

DogsSausages · 05/02/2021 19:28

I hope he is ok and gets seen soon

LordOfTheOnionRings · 05/02/2021 19:28

I would go to a and e

Bramblecrumble · 05/02/2021 19:29

Close Mumsnet rather than getting into a panic...

Embracelife · 05/02/2021 19:29

Cld be the meds but best to check

Liver diseases, such as hepatitis and cirrhosis, also can sometimes cause white stool. Barium, a white substance used for X-rays of the digestive tract and certain medications that contain aluminum hydroxide, for example antacids, can also turn the stool white

meltedgalaxy · 05/02/2021 19:29

I'd go to A&E

Meowmeow20202 · 05/02/2021 19:29

Is the poo actually white? As in not light. Hope everything is ok.

SendMeHome · 05/02/2021 19:29

A&E for me too, with the poo sample if you can.

ReluctantHomeschooler · 05/02/2021 19:29

Could be Hepatitis. I think you should go to A&E.

Aloethere · 05/02/2021 19:33

I hope everything is ok.
This happened to ds once when he was little, we rushed him off to the Dr and he seemed very unconcerned and said it was probably a viral infection. It must have been, I can't remember the specific because it was over a decade ago, but as far as I remember it went away quick enough. So do get medical advice but it might be something and nothing.

4Mongrels · 05/02/2021 19:33

Hope he’s okay OP. Try not to panic, this thread must be terrifying reading for you.

I would imagine you’ll be told to take him to A&E so he can be properly assessed.

JollyHolly30 · 05/02/2021 19:34

I would definitely have him seen by someone as a matter of urgency.
Hope it turns out to be nothing to worry about, OP.

Windchangeface · 05/02/2021 19:35

Yup I’d be in the car heading to A&E if it were my DS. Doesn’t sound right at all. Hope all is ok but definitely needs checking!

Haggisfish · 05/02/2021 19:36

I’d be off to a and e too.

scrivette · 05/02/2021 19:36

DS1 used to have very pale poo after a virus, so it may just be that, however best to seek professional advice just to make sure.

DaanSaaf · 06/02/2021 09:47

How is he @Cherry85?

ineedaholidayandwine · 06/02/2021 09:50

Nope he’s ok
