Does a fussy eater 14month really need milk?

I EBF DS was in hospital recently for a couple days so just weaned off (which I'm so glad as all he wanted was boob). He's always been fussy eater since weaning him off bread milk I give him abidec multivitamin so he doesn't have a balance diet. I've been trying to get him to drink any amounts of milk which is proving to be so difficult. Bottles/soppy cup/open cup just doesn't wana know.
Does he really need milk? They said they don't really need it from 12 months as long as they have a balanced diet which he abs does not. I'm just so tired of trying..
he will only let a bottle in his mouth if I put cartoons on (which I hate but give in so he drinks) he doesn't really suckle that much just occasionally.
Idk if it's just too late now or do I keep trying hoping he's just take it one day. Milk has so much vitamins and minerals for a growing child I'd love it if he drank some.
I try giving him yoghurts and other high calcium foods which is a struggle too. He'll maybe have a yogurt a day or so a munch bunch one
Any help appreciated!

Did you try flavoured milk, I loved Ovaltine in ice cold milk at that age.

Also how about home made rice pudding, custard, blancmange, cauliflower or macaroni cheese, fish pie with lots of the sauce, cereal with milk, porridge. He doesnt have to literally drink the milk, just consume it.

Maybe he just doesn't like it? My mother took me to the Dr at a similar age because I wasn't drinking milk.

I was a healthy weight so he just said to keep feeding.

It turns out I'm lactose intolerant. I can eat small amounts with food so mash with milk but not drink a glass of milk.

You CAN have a healthy diet without milk, is some areas 90% of people have lactose intolerance.

Could you try goat's milk? Oh and I agree with the flavoring, maybe cocoa?

Those munch bunch ones are full of sugar, get rid of those! There are no added sugar petit filous, or the yeo valley fromage frais.

You could also try the non dairy milks?

What do you give for breakfast? My DD won’t drink milk unless from boob but she has loads of cows milk with her weetabix, plus dairy with lunch and dinner usually. So she easily exceeds the dairy required. It’s not that much that’s needed really.

He needs 350mg of calcium a day. You can get forfeited bread and alpro growing up milk and Oatley barista are good alternatives to try.

Maybe focus on changing his diet? In the two days at the hospital he will have been given food, right?

How long is it since you stopped BFing? Both of mine had a couple of weeks between stopping BFing and accepting Cow's Milk.
