I just wanted to say...
To the mums and dads/ careers/nans and grandads (anyone!) caring for children during lockdown 3... massive respect and love to you all.
Im a first time mum to a 6mo and I love her so much, but I have found it all very hard and today I hit a bit of a wall. It's hard not to feel overwhelmed, resentful and blue.
But, I go out, and around me I see people homeschooling, juggling work and childcare, taking their families to the play park in the rain at the end of a school day, dads pushing peaks and walking dogs to give partners a break, grandparents not able to see their grandkids but doing all they can to support from afar. All with minimal support, some dealing with grief and loss, lack of company, no weekend night out or cinema date to look forward to, no holidays on the horizon. The things that keep us sane.
You are all doing a brilliant job caring for your children during a global pandemic. It's put me and my moaning to shame and I'm in awe of you all.
