I keep getting lost on the website and posting this in the wrong place 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Ok, not as dramatic as title suggest but.

Tell me I'm not the only one who does this..

EVERY SINGLE NIGHT (no really every single night) I go to bed and say to myself.. In the morning I will be totally cool and calm. I'll be the most chilled, calm mum ever and my kids will grow up like...mum was always so chilled out.

Come the morning..they are squabbling AGAIN (age 4 and 3) the washing up is overflowing, the laundry is endless, the dog needs a wee AGAIN, i am dying to get to the kettle but they want a different cartoon/drink/toy, the homeschool stuff is ridiculous and I'm dying of knackeredkillmenowimexhausteditis....

And then at night I got to bed like.. 'Imma be so cool and calm tomorrow' 🤦‍♀️😆

Mine are 4 and 3. Tough age combination. What is the age gap between your two?

Alwaystired4 · 04/02/2021 06:45

A year and a bit we just have that weird thing where it sounds like they're really close in age for about a month until there's a birthday 😆 oldest will be 5 this week xx

Ha! I often have these thoughts. Then reality hits. No advice. But solidarity. And wine.

Same...

YukoandHiro · 04/02/2021 06:48

Same same. Don't have formal home school but mine are 3.5 and 3 months and if the pre schooler isn't yelling for something the baby wants feeding. I just want ONE hot cup of tea ffs

YukoandHiro · 04/02/2021 06:49

And then I feel really bad as the eldest has had her world turned up since new baby and needs me to be calm personified. Every single night I say tomorrow will be better 🙄

Alwaystired4 · 04/02/2021 06:52

I so wanted to be one of those laughing, 'oh never mind poppet hahaha, floating around the house mums but I spend all day like : "breathe... need coffee...dying"
Every day i think we could do something wonderful and exciting today but then it's like...one needs a wee again, ones hungry, the washing machine is beeping at me, the dog needs a walk, i have new lines in my forehead...oh good that same cartoon is on again 😆🤦‍♀️😳 x

7am and I've already yelled at the dog and told my 4 yr old off for eating his cereal standing on the couch. Lockdown will be the death of me!

inquietant · 04/02/2021 07:06

I had a really bad period with 'life events' and a counsellor advised that when the stress rose I should stop and sit down. It really worked.

I simply stopped trying to get anything done, and consequently got much more done by the end of the day.

A busy home is really stressful. Focus on looking after your stress first and all else will follow.

I have a 2.5 year old and a 7 week old - the first few weeks were lovely and calm and bam reality set in! I think it’s so tough. I told my DH I couldn’t even use lockdown as an excuse because I feel like this is just life now and I need to accept it 😂 also decided to start toilet training toddler so there’s bodily fluids everywhere. Plus in true toddler form most mealtimes are a nightmare and bedtime has become something I totally dread! I might have an hour in the evening where I can think about things like housework catch-up lol but really it feels like a relentless 24 hour job. Two is much more intense than one but funnily it’s all about the toddler, not so much the baby 😂 I hoped to also be wonderful and floaty but mostly found to say ‘stop’ ‘don’t’ ‘hold on’... and all this is even with toddler having two half nursery days! Can’t imagine what it’s like to homeschool 🤯🙈
