Everytime I feed DS he throws it back up sometimes I'm a bit worried should I contact someone not all the time he does throw up when he eats but sometimes he's weeing and pooing okay

Would you say he throws up majority of the feed every time?

MySafeSpace · 03/02/2021 01:08

My little one was doing this so I called spoke with health visitor who advised to keep an eye, the following day still the same thing so-called 111 and am currently awaiting blood test results for him, think it's a stomach bug but they want him to feed a few times without vomiting
Call if you're worried

Could it be reflux?

My dd had it, I had to keep her upright after feeds fur about half an hour.

babess944 · 03/02/2021 02:43

No he doesn't do it all the time only one or two times he's pooing fine and weeing fine he doesn't look uncomfortable during feeds @MySafeSpace

What you're experiencing sounds totally normal to me. Just keep a close eye and if anything changes talk to a doctor.

MySafeSpace · 03/02/2021 11:11

@babess944 that's really good it's not every time. We had vomit after every feed and it was the whole feed coming up.
We are home now and both shattered but having been observed and monitored overnight they're happy he's keeping enough down now, we are doing little and often feeds now

SeaToSki · 03/02/2021 11:19

Can you try feeding him more slowly, so split the feed into three sections and burp after each section. He might just have a strong gag reflex. But also keep a close eye on nappies and weight gsin. If either slows then call the doctor

Lampsank · 03/02/2021 11:26

DS used to get this after some feeds, it was only a small amount, but we found burping him before a feed helped, not sure of the science, but he was quite gassy with it. If you're worried it's worth speaking with your HV, but seems a very good sign that it's only a small amount, and plenty of poos and wees etc :)

PolytheneHam · 03/02/2021 11:31

Sounds normal to me. DD (now sixteen) was particularly bad with it. So long as they're gaining wait I wouldn't worry.

It only occurred to me yesterday that DS (13 months) hasn't actually been sick for a few months. When they're tiny it feels like it won't ever get to that stage.

Ahhh sounds fine if it's only once or twice a day
