15 months...she had succeeded in climbing out of her cot, but couldn't climb back in, and as I had one of those ikea extendable beds already in her room, I just put her in it.

ds1 started climbing out of cot before he was 2 so that was that.
ds2 is 2.2 and tried climbing out once and fell flat on his back. It frightened the life out of him and he hasn't tried it since. I'm in no hurry to put him in a bed because he still has big sleep at lunchtime and I'm sure that would stop if he went in a bed.

DS was 2.4- just done it. Tried a few months earlier but he drove us crazy by refusing to stay in his bed and kept trying to come downstairs. Left it 2 months (during which time his little sister was born) then tried again- and it worked perfectly, in fact he was really pleased to go into his 'big bed' and loves it! He never climbed out of his cot but would deliberately stick his knees between the bars and yell "Stuck!" repeatedly to get us to come in and delay going to sleep. Monkey.

Between 2 and 2.5. Put the bed up in the same room as the cot for ages and eventually DD decided she would rather sleep in the bed than the cot. After a few nights in the bed the cot came down.

Just doing the same process with DS who doesn't seem that bothered about his bed!!!

Ds1 was 2 when we took the bars off his cot bed, and he is now 2.8 and he has recently gone into a normal single bed.

DTs were 22 months, stright into full size single beds with tomy bedguards, no problems really

dd1 was about 2.5. Dd2 is that age now and climbs out of her cot ( after having unzipped her grobag) every morning! time to get a bed methinks.

She was 16mths (i think). NO real problem transition wise, and she loves loves loves her bed and has no problems going to bed/sleep if she is tired (takes herself off to bed herself now). She is certainly happier in a bed and it's easier for me to comfort her.

Naps have improved (she has 1hour and half now) and self-settles.

Tbh things are the same if not slightly better than in cot - if she wakes and needs me, she either cries and I go to her or she gets out and comes to us (she would have cried in cot and I would have gone to her) so works for us because we don't leave her iykwim - would have been a pain if we were CIO people . She is def happier being left in her bed than cot (we changed her in a bed because we thought she might like the independence/control of feeling she *could come and get us) and would rather sleep in her bed now than with me - we were co-sleeping a lot.

My DS was 17 months... mainly because he was banging on the sides... he loves his bed.

12m, (PFB was great at going to bed)

15m, (was a terrible sleeper before that and would never have stayed put we thought. turned out we were wrong; he hated the cot with a vengeance and was much happier in a bed. we did have to put him back in it about 100 times a night at first, but he got the hang of it pretty quickly.)

and about 19m (was in a cot in our room for longer due to living out of the house coz of building work)
