Does my baby have an eye problem?

My DS has just turned 8 months old and I’m sure one of his eyes is slightly smaller than the other. He doesn’t have a droopy eyelid and his eyes both look in the same direction at the same time. His vision seems fine - he looks up and smiles at me when I’m on the other side of the room.

The size difference has got me worried though - do you think this is something to be concerned about and is the health visitor likely to give me a referral if I ask for one? Or are they hard to come by?

If you're concerned go to the gp rather than wait for HV
Gp can refer to a specialist if they assess and think their may be an issue

Thanks. Do you think it is a cause for concern?

I wouldn't wait for a hv for something as important as a baby's eye/sight. I would speak to the gp just to make sure everything is okay. You may even be able to send them a photo and based on the photo if they need to see him in person then take him in.
