3 month old won’t nap during the day!

Just that really! Any tips welcome? It can take me up to an hour for me to try get her over for her to sleep for ten minutes and wake up wide awake again? Should I put her upstairs in her crib for a nap? She sleeps well at night!

I used the huckleberry app at that age, it gives you sweet spots when to put baby down based on how long they’ve been awake and it really helped to get my DD’s wake windows right.

3 kids here, none slept in a crib for a daytime nap until they were 12 months old.
They used to either nap on me while I put my feet up with the telly (bliss) or on a walk in the pushchair.
Don’t stress about it, they will rarely be put down at this age, easier and less stressful just to go with the flow!

I don’t mind her sleeping on me but it’s my first baby and everyone’s telling me if I don’t put her down she’ll find it hard to go to sleep on her own? But she’s grand at night I put her in her next to me and stroke her head and she’s sleeping in ten minutes for the night! Maybe il just let her sleep on me and go with the flow!

We're the same and she still is a pain to nap. We find that using a soother when she starts to show signs of being tired (rubbing eyes, yawning or just starting to get general cranky) sometimes helps. She would sleep in the bouncer for a little while. Sometimes the crib but rarely lasts more than 20 minutes in it. I have no idea what it is with babies and day time naps in cribs, they just refuse it unless it's night time!

It’s a nightmare isn’t it @Strawberries4days ! I can tell she’s so tired but when I pick her up to put her to sleep she screams and fights and nearly makes herself sick and if I do get her over it’s ten minutes and no more and she’ll be up again but she’s still tired 😴

Sounds like my baby, sleeps great in his crib all night but won’t have anything to do with it during the day. It’s like he associates his crib with bedtime only. But as long as he’s sleeping well at night then I don’t mind him napping on me during the day. I bought a sling so he can sleep in that and I can still have my hands free. Maybe when he’s a few months older I’ll start trying to get him to nap in the crib. But tbh it’s totally normal for young babies to only want contact naps (Although my DS will sleep in his pram after a walk so I get a few hours of freedom!).

2 DC here, neither would sleep anywhere but on me at that age (and wanted to be right next to me at night too). It's totally normal at that age.

In terms of what other people are saying to you: how many 12 year olds do you know that sleep with their parents?

Where does she sleep in the day?

If she sleeps well at night, it might be a case of having to replicate the conditions in the day, so in the crib, dark room and quiet etc.

I held my eldest for naps. It worked for us.
