Cloth Nappies - How many do I need?

Hi All

Just a quick bit of advice wanted please. My baby is due in a couple of weeks and I would like to use Cloth Nappies. So far I have 10 x Bamboozles, 5 x Tots Bots Cotton & 6 or 7 Motherease wraps.

For obvious reasons I don't want to purchase any more at this stage, but assuming I get on well with cloth nappies how many do you think I need in total?

All advice warmly appreciated.

Kind Regards
Rachel

I have 24 because to start with I had 2 in nappies. Ds1 is now toilet trained so they do last a while, but for instances (like last couple of days!) where ds2 is ill I am mightily glad we have so many or we would end up in disposables each day.
Ds2 used to get through 13-16 nappies a day in the first few months (really heavy wetter). I'd say get some green disposables and discover what you need by how often you have to rely on them.

depends on how you plan to dry them. bamboozles take a lot longer to dry than cotton nappies and even the cotton tots take a while if you just hang them up. i use flat terries as i have no drier, might be worth getting some as emergency backup? especially as newborns can go through a lot in a day

I had 16 and we washed almost (but not always) every day and still only just got by because we had a hot summer and everything dried so fast. I would definitely have a few extras for the next baby so there wasn't such pressure on a fast turn around.

Normally 18-24 is recommended to allow for washing every 2-3 days. If you are line drying the bamboo then you will need a few more.
