Parents of tall babies...any tips?

Hi,

My little boy is 7 months old and is very tall, currently in 12-18 month clothes for length and size 5/6 nappies. I'm 5'10" and when he stands he comes up to the middle of my thigh Confused Hubby is 6'5" so not surprising how tall he is tbh!

Anyways, he's starting to crawl and trying to stand up and I'm now worried about what he's going to try next. How do I baby-proof and prepare for him and tips and tricks would be great. My hubby used to climb out of his cot when he was little so I'm starting to worry if our little one will do the same. They grow so quickly! x

I have tall children. My oldest is 4 and in size 7 to 8 year old clothes. She has dropped height percentiles as she has gotten older. Luckily unlike her toddler sister she was not a climber. Neither used the cot so that wasn’t a problem.

For baby proofing crawl around the house and see what they can see and may reach and needs to moved out of the way. Baby gates on the bottom and top of stairs any rooms you need to them in/out. Baby gates at the top needs to screw into the walls. Socket covers should never be used in the U.K. Keep one door of the kitchen without door locks and put things they can play with in there.

My 8 month old is average height I think. He has started walking, and already climbed up and over the coffee table today! He already pulls himself up and hangs off the cot bars, so I assume will be up and over sooner rather than later, so we might have to move the sides off in a few months.
I think its just a baby learning to move thing rather than particular height.

If you haven't already bought his next car seat, get one that goes up to 25kg, not 18kg! And not the up to 12 years ones (as they are just the 18kg ones with a booster tacked on). He will outgrow an 18kg seat much earlier than the 4 years promised, he won't have the room in it.

25kg seats are less easy to find but they do exist.

My tall 2.5yo has never climbed out of his cot although I think he could.
