Hi - i am decorating my 2 year olds (well she will be on Monday) dd's bedroom and thought maybe i should put her big bed in the room with her cot now that it is decorated - any handy tips to help me, help her move from a cot to a big bed? Do you think i am rushing her - all help and advice welcome!

My dd (21 months) has been in a big bed since August. I bought one of the bed guards (about £20 from Toys R Us) and she has been fine. I didn't leave the cot in the room I jsut took it out. We went on holiday and she wouldn't sleep in the travel cot she kept wanting to go in the spare single bed. I treid her and she was fine so we moved her own bed when we got home.

Thanks Helsi - she has gone away with my ex for a couple of days so i could get it ready for when she gets back - i just wondered if she might show some inquisitivness (i think thats how its spelt) if i left it in the room for her first.

You could do I suppose but try and explain that now she is 2 she is a big girl and has been given a big bed (we have lots of fairies in our house that are responsible for a lot of things!) so you could say that the fairies need the cot for new babies and they have left hr a big bed instead. ASDA have lovely fairy bedding.
