Just wanted to make a quick thread in the hope of raising awareness of Extended Rear Facing.
UK laws for car seat safety are absolutely appalling, we are even behind the US in the understanding if child safety in cars as most states now have a minimum forward facing age of 2 years old.
If you're seeing this and have a child under 4, please watch this video and others like it to see the benefits of rear facing as long as possible. If you have a forward facing child, especially one under 2 please, please consider turning them back around. Check your current car seat manual, particularly if you have a Joie seat, as you may find it can be installed rear facing to 1ikg so you wouldn't even need to buy a new seat.
So many people still turn babies as young as 9m forward facing because it is seen as the norm but I can't stress how dangerous it is.
Thanks for reading!
