Wellies!!

Now then, DS 22 months only started walking a month ago. I can’t for the life of me get any welly I buy him on without a wrestle, and some bouncing up and down to get his foot in 🤣 it’s awful.
We’ve tried snow boots but his feet get wet as he’s obsessed with massive puddles (even a pair with the rubber soles)
Any suggestions or recommendations?
I don’t want to spend a fortune as his feet grow so fast!
Thanks!

My DS is same age and we have a pair of joules wellies. They are wide at the top and go on easily. Getting the legs of his puddle suit to go over the boots is a bit of a pain, but it stops the water getting into his wellies.

We had a pair of crocs wellies that were awesome. Had handles at the top

FreeButtonBee · 24/01/2021 21:21

The ones with handles are good and buy a size bigger and put in two pairs of socks. Better to have a wide neck on them and if they are a hit too big it really doesn’t matter

We had crocs and they were great when they were little. Wide fit, easy to get on, and handles. This time around bought something slightly cheaper on Amazon that I have been really impressed with - similar but no handles , on the other hand a lined fleece sock inside that you can take out and wash. They are called kolma ultralight Eva boots - think they are categorised as girls wellies but loads of colours and I got for both boy and girl.

Why are you struggling to get them on? Just asking because my son has raised arches and any kind of boots are a struggle. He also scrunches his feet up when putting shoes on so doesn’t really help.

Rainallnight · 24/01/2021 22:04

My DS is the same with very high arches. We’re managing with a pair of Clark’s wellies that are about half a size too big.

Thanks everyone! This is all really helpful and I’ll check out the recommendations.
@DarkDarkNight @Rainallnight I don’t think he has raised arches. It’s Mainly because he just doesn’t help and curls his toes up in a ball so it’s hard to push them down and then on, if that makes sense! Although he wants them on! Hopefully it passes.I think a wide neck might be the way to go.
Thanks everyone

Having spent hours on end taking wellies on and off what feels like a million small children in the last few weeks I can confirm that wellies with handles are really helpful. The crocs ones sized up seem the best although are undoubtedly £££.

Decathlon wellies are really flexible and easy to get on!
